Our previous owner has been at Stokesley Veterinary Practice for nearly 50 years and recently won the RDA Vet of the Year Award.
Stokesley Veterinary Practice has been established in the town for almost 100 years. Our previous owner Tom Miller has been at our practice for almost 5 decades and as well as becoming a very highly respected, friendly face over the years, he has also seen our practice treat tens of thousands of animals, including pets, horses and livestock.
"I first came to work in this practice in 1969 after working for two years in Scotland. I become a partner in the practice in 1972 when it was predominantly a large animal practice. Since this time, I have seen a gradual build up in the small animal and equine parts of the practice, whilst there has been a decline in the number of working farms in the area."
Tom Miller
It’s not just the pet owners of Stokesley, Middlesborough, Northallerton and North Yorkshire that Tom has dedicated his time and energy to either. In the 70’s he decided that he wanted to choose a charity to support, and opted for the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA).
Over the years, Tom has spent countless hours working with the RDA providing routine and emergency treatment for all the horses at the Unicorn Centre in Hemlington. As a result of his continued efforts, Tom is still the RDA veterinary surgeon to this day. He was awarded the RDA Vet of the Year Award in 2013.
In practice, Tom is supported by a team of 12 self-confessed animal lovers, each of whom will do everything in their power to provide you and your companion with the very highest levels of care.
